Les journalistes de l'AFP aux Etats-Unis préparaient depuis des mois la couverture de ce scrutin, en allant à la rencontre des électeurs aux quatre coins du pays, en approfondissant sur les dossiers cruciaux, en organisant les équipes TV pour être en direct le jour J depuis une vingtaine de villes américaines et en suivant pas à pas le démocrate Joe Biden et le républicain Donald Trump.
Pendant que nos photographes aux Etats-Unis diffusaient, en une seule nuit, plus de 1.300 images, les fact-checkers étaient mobilisés pour démentir les fausses nouvelles avant qu'elles ne deviennent virales et nos datajournalistes veillaient pour actualiser en direct les résultats sur une carte interactive.
